Southeast Mobile Slaughter Co-op

We are a group of small farmers that have come together to make USDA inspected on-farm slaughter a reality for the Southeast. Thanks to our collaborative efforts, interested farms are able to set up their own on-farm USDA slaughter and cut-and-wrap operations with minimal up-front investment!


Why on-farm slaughter?

Transporting animals to the slaughterhouse is stressful for both the animal and the farmer. An animal that is stressed prior to slaughter will have adrenaline coursing through its system, affecting meat tenderness and quality. On-farm slaughter brings the slaughterhouse right to the farm, ensuring the most humane and stress-free form of slaughter possible and resulting in a higher quality product.
